Networking Fund Raiser for Breast Cancer

Mixer to Raise Funds for RE/MAX Broker’s Wife with Cancer

Peoria, Arizona – RE/MAX Desert Showcase will host a Fund Raising Mixer for its Designated Broker’s wife on Thursday, December 6, 2007. Judy Lyles, wife of Ed Lyles, recently underwent surgery for breast cancer. In an effort to help defray the medical expenses, local residents and business people are encouraged to attend the mixer.

The event will be held at El Toro Bravo from 5-8 pm. El Toro Bravo is located near the Peoria Sports Complex, directly across from the Harkins Theaters. Organizers are asking for a minimum $10 donation. The restaurant is donating free appetizers and offering drink specials.

”All proceeds from this mixer will go toward Judy Lyles’ medical bills and future recovery costs,” Mike Foulds from RE/MAX Desert Showcase said. “Judy had surgery on November 13th and the doctors are concerned, but hopeful that chemotherapy will get rid of the cancer currently risking Judy’s health.”

RE/MAX is a major supporter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation,” Foulds continues. “Breast cancer is an insidious disease. I’m sure we all know someone who has been affected by cancer. We hope our friends in the community will step up and help a family in need.”

For more information on this important fund raising event please call the RE/MAX Desert Showcase office at 623-979-8888 or Mike Foulds directly at (602) 316-9220.

Re/Max and the Children's Miracle Network

Children's Miracle Network

Children's Miracle Network and RE/MAX are joined by their desire to provide local community hospitals with modern tools and information. Since RE/MAX became the exclusive real estate sponsor of Children's Miracle Network in 1992, RE/MAX Associates have raised nearly $75 million for the cause.

Founded in 1983, Children's Miracle Network generates health care funds and awareness programs to benefit children. The nonprofit organization's 170 participating hospitals across North America help 17 million children annually.

RE/MAX Associates raise funds for Children's Miracle Network in a variety of ways, including:
Pledging a contribution derived from each transaction involving a RE/MAX Miracle Home®.
Staging fundraising events - from local golf tournaments to parking-lot flea markets.

Handling the phones at the organization's annual telethon fundraising event, the largest of its kind in the world.

RE/MAX Sales Associates are unique in that a majority of the donations received by Children's Miracle Network from RE/MAX are the direct result of Associates' hard work rather than solicited from customers.

Miracle Home®
The Miracle Home® Program, exclusive to RE/MAX International, allows a RE/MAX Associate to donate a portion of every transaction to Children's Miracle Network. The partnership underscores Sales Associates’ involvement in the communities where they live and serve.

Re/Max Community Involvement

Community Involvement

Community involvement is highly valued at all levels of the RE/MAX organization - from individual Associates to RE/MAX offices, regions, and RE/MAX International.

RE/MAX cause marketing and charity fundraising take on many forms. RE/MAX is a national co-sponsor of the Breast Cancer Survivor Recognition Program at Komen Race for the Cure® events. The RE/MAX organization has been the official real estate sponsor of Children's Miracle Network since 1992.
Each year, about 20 charities host fundraising golf tournaments at Sanctuary, the private course of RE/MAX International Co-founders Dave and Gail Liniger.

RE/MAX International is the first major sponsor of The Wildlife Experience, a conservation and community center promoting understanding of the natural world and its conservation through art and education.

RE/MAX International, Inc., is sponsoring RE/MAX Tour for the Troops to benefit two organizations dedicated to improving the lives of disabled veterans: Fisher House Foundationtm and Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship Foundationsm. Warrior One, the famed Hummer H1 that was embedded with a CNN news team in Iraq and refurbished on the “Overhaulin’” program, is the centerpiece of the tour. It’s available for appearances across the United States.

All these avenues and more represent the RE/MAX network's commitment to community involvement, serving the public beyond its real estate needs.

Komen Race for the Cure - Komen Race for the Cure

RE/MAX Racing for Life® Komen Race for the Cure

With its "RE/MAX Racing for Life®" slogan, RE/MAX International is proud to be a co-sponsor of the National Series Breast Cancer Survivor Recognition Program at Komen Race for the Cure events, the world's largest series of 5K runs and fitness walks. Komen estimates that more than 1 million people participated in its 2006 races.

The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Survivor Recognition Program celebrates breast cancer survivors and honors those who have lost their battles with the disease. RE/MAX shares sponsorship with Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity, a nonprofit volunteer organization.

RE/MAX contributes pink survivor T-shirts and caps, as well as "In celebration of" and "In memory of" back signs and program banners for every race. RE/MAX Associates who are breast cancer survivors or who otherwise have been affected by the disease are encouraged to solicit pledges for their own participation. Corporate representatives host breast cancer survivor recognition tents at the more than 100 events in the United States.

Sold for the CureTM
RE/MAX launched a unique program early in 2007 exclusive to RE/MAX Sales Associates that allows agents to designate homes as Sold for the Cure properties in support of Komen for the Cure. The pink "RE/MAX in support of Komen for the Cure" banner that sits atop a RE/MAX yard sign means that Komen will receive a donation from the RE/MAX agent when that property sells.

The "$25 for 25" program
In October 2007, Komen for the Cure celebrates 25 years leading the fight against breast cancer. Together with its affiliate network, corporate partners and various donors, Komen has invested nearly $1 billion in research, education, screening and treatment since 1982. The organization has pledged to invest another billion over the next 25 years. In that time, 25 million people will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 10 million will die.

In an effort to support the organization's ongoing mission - and in celebration of Komen's achievements over the past 25 years - RE/MAX Associates will have opportunities to make $25 donations to Komen for the Cure throughout the month of October.

RE/MAX is committed to supporting Komen for the Cure's promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever.
